Clinical Associate ProfessorMedicine Division of GastroenterologyFaculty Information Biography Stephen Rulyak, MD, MPH is a board certified gastroenterologist based at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington. Dr. Rulyak’s practice is focused primarily on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers including esophageal, gastric, pancreatic and colon cancers. His clinical work involves advanced endoscopic procedures including endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic mucosal resection, and radiofrequency ablation of Barrett’s esophagus. He also focuses on screening and surveillance for cancers and pre-cancerous lesions in the digestive tract, including patients with inherited cancer syndromes. Dr. Rulyak earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship and earned a Masters in Public Health at the University of Washington.
