UW GI Fellowship Community
The UW GI fellowship is a tight knit community. Learn more about us here.

At the start of each year, there are multiple events held for the new fellows in order to welcome them into the program.
Throughout the year, the program directors host a bi-monthly breakfast meeting to get feedback on the program and work through any issues that arise.
Other favorite events include the Landmark Papers meeting, where a GI faculty member hosts a dinner at their home and moderates the discussion of a landmark research paper. GI fellows and faculty frequently socialize outside of work and participate in local events and fundraising activities.

Fellow Testimonials
"I feel very well supported by this fellowship program and really appreciate how receptive and responsive the program leadership is to feedback from the fellows." -- Mitra Barahimi
"At UW I have been the recipient of excellent training in gastroenterology from physicians who are not only true experts in the field, but wonderful people who love what they do and work hard to ensure our fellowship is one of the best in the country." -- Joey Roberts
“I love working with the providers here including the attendings, co-fellows, and nursing staff. There’s also considerable breadth of training and I’ve particularly enjoyed my hepatology rotations, where we care fir and see patients spanning the entire temporal spectrum of liver diseases, from those with newly diagnosed liver disease to those several years post-OLT.” -- Philip Vutien
