What is the Diversity Council?
The Department of Medicine Diversity Council was formed in 2014 to report and provide guidance on how to increase and sustain diversity in our faculty, training programs, and staff. The members of the Diversity Council represent a wide range of specialties.
ANTI-RACISM
Our department condemns racism in any of its forms.
Racism runs contrary to the values and principles of health equity, diversity, and inclusion, especially for members of the African American and Black communities.
We acknowledge and own our actions that have contributed to the systemic oppression of marginalized groups. This includes members of our staff, residents, students, and colleagues.
We are committed to training the next generation of physicians who will go on to eliminate inequities in care, research, and education, and supporting all of our staff and faculty of color in the Department of Medicine.
Our leadership and staff aim to improve the health of all.
Our anti-racist work continues and we will no longer be silent.
