Bio

Dr Pryce is an Acting Instructor in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Washington. He joined the Division in early 2025 after completing his Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. His current research focuses on cancer cachexia, a condition characterized by extreme weight loss due to the wasting of muscle and fat tissue. Cachexia greatly decreases survival and quality of life in cancer patients and is especially prominent in some GI-related cancers, particularly pancreatic cancer. His main projects focus on specific cell-cell in-teractions within the muscle microenvironment and how these interactions drive the progression of cachexia using both in vivo and in vitro systems. He is also interested in continued refinement of animal models of cachexia that accurately reflect the phenotypes observed in patients.
