Biography
Dr. Pope, Professor, Emeritus, Medicine, has had a life-long interest in esophageal structure and function. He developed methods of quantifying esophageal propulsive force; described reflux-induced changes in esophageal mucosa; demonstrated extra-esophageal manifestations of reflux in larynx and lung.He served as Chief, Gastroenterology, at the Seattle VA Medical Center.
