Biography

Dr. Marina Hanna’s career reflects a deliberate and progressive commitment to academic medicine, beginning with her early training in the Pacific Northwest and culminating in advanced subspecialty fellowship training.

She earned her Associate in Science from Shoreline Community College and Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Washington, followed by a Master of Science in Biomedical Science at Tufts University, where she developed a strong foundation in translational research. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and subsequently returned to the University of Washington for internal medicine internship and residency, distinguished by her receipt of the Resident and Intern Excellence in Teaching Award, recognizing her effectiveness and dedication as an educator.

She completed a fellowship at the University of Washington and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, reflecting clinical rigor and excellence in patient care.

Alongside her clinical training, Dr. Hanna has begun to build a scholarly portfolio, including peer-reviewed publications, a book chapter, and national presentations focused on colorectal cancer biology, screening innovation, and health equity. Her research integrates population-level health disparities with mechanistic and clinical science, underscoring her commitment to improving care for underserved populations.
